Carcharodon carcharias or The White Shark is from the Lamnidae family, which also includes mako sharks, salmon sharks, and porbeagle sharks. With bodies shaped like torpedoes and with powerful tailfins, great whites can rocket through the water at speeds of up to 35 miles per hour, and a bite force of 1.8 metric tons allows the shark to quickly inflict massive trauma on it's prey.
Like Human Serial KIllers Great White Sharks have something in common with Human Serial Killers: When a great white shark gets hungry, it doesn't simply head for a crowd of seals and pick off the closest one. Instead, the great white lurks in its favourite hunting spot, waiting for a young and unwary seal to venture into the invisible danger zone. Then, it strikes silently from below, with the same hunting patterns as a human predator, stealthily watching and waiting for the right occasion to make it's move on it's prey.
